July 2000 Status UpdateTLC is in full operation as of May 10, 2000July 8, 2000 -- CSUS Translations and Language Center is no longer in existence as of June 30, 2000. It took the university a full 3 months to wrap up a booming business, and many customers were unhappy to lose such a valuable service. Not to worry, everyone, Translations and Language Consulting is coming to the rescue! Our contract with the Department of General Services will be developed in a few months. As of May 10, 2000, TLC has been in full operation, providing the same scope, quality and speed of services as did Translations and Language Center at CSUS prior to the announcement of its closure. We are using the same core group of translators and interpreters, but our doors are now open to more qualified people; we offer the same range of services, but at a lower cost since we do not have bureaucratic expenses to cover; we are faster and more efficient since we handle all of the project management, billing and payments under one roof. We kept many of the old clients who desperately needed our services. We're always open to the new clients, be they private or public enterprises! Starting in January of 2001 (approximately), TLC will be available to handle contracts with various state departments. We will keep you posted on the development of this subject. Wish us luck, and we won't let you down!
